Employability Support with re'new
Support to get back into work
re’new has been awarded funding from Leeds City Council to deliver employability support programmes to people wanting to improve their skills and find work.
The funding is for six tailored programmes of support for unemployed people aged 19 and above. The project will raise the skills levels of participants through a variety of interactive sessions to help improve their confidence and increase their chances of gaining sustained employment.
The support on offer will include help with finding work, communication and interviews skills, budgeting, action planning and goal setting for the individuals. Three of the six sessions will be delivered from South Leeds for Middleton & Belle Isle residents and the others from our Archway Centre on Roundhay Road, Harehills, where crèche facilities will be available.
Angela Goodyear, re’new Employment Team Manager said: ‘The project offers a whole range of support as well as giving learners open access to our IT suite to enable job search and online job applications. Not only will this help those who do not have this facility at home but a dedicated Employment Officer will be on-hand to support them’.
The courses are not accredited but aim to provide support to those looking for work. They will take place in early 2012.
